THE COLBERT REPORT” MAKES SHOW HISTORY BY EXPANDING TO A FULL HOUR

NEW YORK, September 19, 2011 — Stephen Colbert rocks out with a special one-hour episode of “The Colbert Report” for the first time ever!  The super-sized show will feature interviews and performances by Radiohead intertwined with regular series segments.  The band is set to perform songs from their recent release “King of Limbs” including the new and previously unreleased track “The Daily Mail.”  One song will be exclusively available at www.ColbertNation.com.  Tune in to “The Colbert Report” on Monday, September 26 from 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET/PT to watch this epic episode. 

“I look forward to meeting the Radioheads and leveraging their anti-corporate indie cred to raise brand awareness for my sponsors,” said Colbert.

Musicians who have previously appeared on the show include The Black Belles, Talib Kweli, Florence & The Machine, Bon Iver, LCD Soundsystem, Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers, Gorillaz, Cee Lo Green, Alicia Keys, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Tony Bennett, Willie Nelson, R.E.M., The Roots, John Legend, Barry Manilow, John Mellencamp, NAS, Toby Keith, Feist, Rush, Peter Frampton, Carole King, Elvis Costello, among many others. 

“The Colbert Report” airs Monday-Thursday at 11:30 p.m. and repeats at 2:30 a.m. the same night and at 10:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. the following day (all times ET/PT).  Full episodes, as well as clips, are posted for viewing the following day at www.ColbertNation.com with URL and embed links.

“The Colbert Report” is produced by Jon Stewart’s Busboy Productions, Inc. in association with Colbert’s Spartina Productions, Inc.  Stewart, Colbert and Tom Purcell are the executive producers with Meredith Bennett and Richard Dahm as co-executive producers.  Jim Hoskinson is the director.  Lisa Leingang is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.
