Perhaps not since the days of Joe Cocker’s supersized Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour of the early ’70s has this much talented rock and soul hit the road together, suggesting some potentially explosive onstage musical fireworks. Singer and guitarist Susan Tedeschi, who fronts TTB with her husband and guitar virtuoso Derek Trucks, is excited about the possibilities. “Sharon is really soulful and sweet and we know a lot of the Dap-King guys through different projects,” said Tedeschi, also thrilled to share the stage with longtime friend and TTB collaborator Doyle Bramhall II. “There’s a lot to look forward to and who knows—maybe we’ll all get up and play together. The wheels of creativity are turning at all times; it should be fun and could be epic.”
Formed in 2010 with a spirit of adventure that saw Tedeschi and Trucks shelve their equally successful solo careers, Tedeschi Trucks Band has quickly become the vanguard of modern roots music. TTB has already earned a Grammy for its debut album,
Revelator, followed with a dynamic live double disc, Everybody’s Talkin,’ and most recently released Made Up Mind. Driven by Trucks, #16 of the top 100 Guitarists of All Time (Rolling Stone), and Tedeschi, blessed with a voice that passionately delivers a range of powerful R&B belters to gentle ballads, the group enlists two drummers, two vocalists, a three-piece horn section, bass, and a multi-instrumentalist keyboard player for what is a greater-than-the-sum-of-its-parts collective.
Combining inspired Memphis soul with post-war electric blues and classic songcraft into an award-winning sound, TTB has captured the admiration of both concert audiences and critics worldwide – recently touted as “a deeply skilled groove machine” (
Los Angeles Times). With its legendary live performances featuring a growing repertoire of original material and an astounding range of songs by anyone from blues pioneers Blind Willie Johnson and Elmore James to present-day Ray LaMontagne and David Bowie, TTB thrives on shaking things up and challenging itself. They’ve recently introduced an intimate acoustic segment into their live set, and fans this summer can also expect to hear new originals that the band has been working on for their next album.
Having wrapped up his 15-year tenure with The Allman Brothers Band, Trucks is entering 2015 with full-time focus and a jam-packed itinerary of TTB concert dates. After launching the new year with their own annual Sunshine Music Festival in Florida, two nights at Nashville’s storied Ryman Auditorium, and a performance by Derek and Susan at February’s high-profile MusicCares concert honoring Bob Dylan, TTB will jump on the festival circuit again, with an inaugural mainstage appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in April and a return to Lock’n in September. Additionally, the group has also lined up another trip to Europe this fall after two treks there in 2014.
Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings have been hailed as one of the leading forces in the revival of classic soul and funk. The band has traveled the world for more than a decade, blowing minds with their electrifying live performances and their raw, hand-crafted studio recordings. The Brooklyn based 11-piece group delivers sharp, danceable funk grooves, impassioned singing and sweet soul hooks that stay in your head for days on end. The group is touring behind it’s sixth album under the renowned independent Daptone label, 2014’s
Give the People What They Want, which was recently honored with a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album. The prolific power-house and survivor that she is, Sharon Jones has fully recovered from a 2013 cancer diagnosis and bounced back with one of the biggest years of her career, filled with milestone accomplishments and a renewed energy for life.
Doyle Bramhall II is well-known for his extraordinary guitar work, but also as a distinctive vocalist, composer and producer. Just 18 when he was recruited by Jimmie Vaughan to play with the Fabulous Thunderbirds, two years later Doyle co-founded the Arc Angels with Charlie Sexton and Stevie Ray Vaughan’s rhythm section: Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon. So impressed with Doyle too, Eric Clapton invited Bramhall to join Clapton’s group full-time and their association flourished. Collaborations with such as artists as Sheryl Crow, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Elton John, Gary Clark Jr., Erykah Badu, and Gregg Allman have kept Doyle highly in-demand. He is now completing his fourth solo album, launching the next chapter of his musical journey.
- Nickelback is on the road for the next seven months in support of their acclaimed eighth studio album, No Fixed Address (Republic Records), released last November. No Fixed Address spawned the anthemic Active Rock hit, “Edge Of A Revolution,” and the #1 Most Added at Top 40 and iTunes Top Rock Songs Chart hit, “What Are You Waiting For?”
- Nickelback will be joined by special guests The Pretty Reckless, supporting their latest release Going To Hell (Razor & Tie), for 19 dates when the tour launches, February 14 through March 15. Michigan rockers Pop Evil will pick-up the next ten dates, March 22 through April 7. Lifehouse will finish out the remaining 30+ dates, in support of their new release Out of the Wasteland (Ironworks Records/Kobalt Label Services), beginning on June 19 in Ridgefield, WA.
- The group’s worldwide sales exceed 50 million units, solidifying their status as the “eleventh best-selling music act” and second best-selling foreign act in the U.S. of the 21st century-behind only The Beatles.
- Their inescapable and irresistible smash “How You Remind Me” remains Billboard’s “Top Rock Song of the Decade” and “Fourth Song of the Decade”.
- Along the way, they’ve received a staggering nine Grammy Award nominations, three American Music Awards, a World Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, 12 JUNO Awards and have been inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame.

About the Neville Brothers:
Throughout their long careers as both solo performers and as members of the group that bore their family name, the Neville Brothers proudly carried the torch of their native New Orleans’ rich R&B legacy. Although the four siblings — Arthur, Charles, Aaron, and Cyril — did not officially unite under the Neville Brothers aegis until 1977, all had crossed musical paths in the past, while also enjoying success with other unrelated projects: Eldest brother Art was the first to tackle a recording career, when in 1954 his high school band the Hawketts cut “Mardi Gras Mambo,” a song that later became the annual carnival’s unofficial anthem. Both Aaron and Charles later joined the Hawketts as well, and when Art joined the Navy in 1958, he handed Aaron the group’s vocal reins. In 1968, Allen Toussaint put together a house band for various recordings that eventually became the Meters, which featured Art without Aaron and Charles. In 1975, the Meters backed the Wild Tchoupitoulas and enlisted Aaron and Charles for the recording sessions. In 1977, they officially banded together as the Neville Brothers and they went on to create music history with iconic albums and classic songs such as: “Yellow Moon,” “Sister Rosa,” “Mardi Gras Mambo,” “Fiyo on the Bayou,” “Live on Planet Earth,” “Brothers Keeper,” “Voodoo,” “Bird on a Wire,” “With God On Our Side,” “Hey Pocky Way,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Drift Away,” “Liza Jane” and “Big Chief,” among many others.

Celebrated soulful ensemble JJ Grey & Mofro will release their newest recording Ol’ Glory on March 3rd. This album marks their debut on Provogue Records, which is part of the Mascot Label Group. Ol’ Glory contains 12 new songs that feature the deep, soulful blend of blues, rock, folk, funk, gospel, gritty R&B and personal, Southern-inspired narratives that have become synonymous with JJ Grey & Mofro. A true Southern renaissance man, JJ Grey’s intensely charismatic live performances, combined with the incredible musicianship of Mofro, have connected with audiences all over the world. Their work has been praised by the press, including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, Relix, The Oxford American and many more.
The material on Ol’ Glory reflects two themes that run through JJ Grey & Mofro’s entire body of work, a strong sense of place, and finding happiness with where you are in life. The opening track, “Everything Is A Song” is prime example, as is the joyous “Every Minute” with its mantra “loving every minute of living”. “Home in the Sky” allows listeners a glimpse at Grey’s spirituality strongly rooted in his Florida home and the land he grew up on. JJ Grey is a natural storyteller with a gift for delivering thoughtful and profound messages in a down-to-earth, laid-back way, while maintaining a level of intensity that goes straight to your core.
Ol’ Glory was recorded at Retrophonics Studio in Saint Augustine, FL, where Grey has tracked many times. An avid surfer, Grey often spent the mornings at the beach and the afternoons recording, a formula that has proven very effective in creating inspired recordings. Ol’ Glory showcases the strength of Mofro members Anthony Cole (drums and percussion), Andrew Trube (guitar), Anthony Farrell (piano/organ), Todd Smallie (bass) and Dennis Marion (trumpet) and Jeff Dazey (saxophone). Special guests include Luther Dickinson on dobro and electric slide guitar and Derek Trucks on electric slide guitar.
