MOBY – Destroyed Album/Book Launch Events Next Week
Destroyed, Moby’s new album and book of photography is set for release on May 17th. To celebrate, Moby has planned several music and art events the week before release. National Geographic is hosting the first event on May 9th called, ‘Music on…Photography’, a multi-media series featuring renowned personalities in the music world as they share their view of the planet from behind the camera lens. The event, being held in Washington D.C. at National Geographic Live, is now sold out.
On May 11th Clic Gallery in New York City opens their exhibition “Destroyed: Photographs by Moby” featuring photos from Destroyed and a book signing. The exhibition will run from May 12th through June 26th. The following night on May 12th at Brooklyn Museum, Moby will sit down with John Schaefer host of WNYC’s Soundcheck and New Sounds as a part of the museum’s Thursday @ 7 Series. The special evening will also include a sneak preview of songs from Destroyed performed live (the only scheduled performance in the US right now) and a screening of Moby’s self-directed/produced Be The OneEP videos. Additional exhibitions and events will be scheduled in the U.S., including Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles in September, the Irvine Contemporary gallery in DC, and throughout Europe this summer in conjunction with his concert tour.
Moby’s official music video for, “The Day”, the first single from Destroyed is out now. The video, directed by Evan Bernard (Beastie Boys, Green Day), takes place in a hospital and features the actressHeather Graham as a nurse and guardian angel. All proceeds from sales of the video are being donated to The Cambodian Children’s Fund of which Heather Graham is an active supporter.
Joined by a 10-piece band, which included a choir section, Moby performed “The Day” live on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on April 29th. If you missed the impressive performance you can check it outHERE.
