Celebrated soulful ensemble JJ Grey & Mofro will release their newest recording Ol’ Glory on March 3rd. This album marks their debut on Provogue Records, which is part of the Mascot Label Group. Ol’ Glory contains 12 new songs that feature the deep, soulful blend of blues, rock, folk, funk, gospel, gritty R&B and personal, Southern-inspired narratives that have become synonymous with JJ Grey & Mofro. A true Southern renaissance man, JJ Grey’s intensely charismatic live performances, combined with the incredible musicianship of Mofro, have connected with audiences all over the world. Their work has been praised by the press, including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, Relix, The Oxford American and many more.

The material on Ol’ Glory reflects two themes that run through JJ Grey & Mofro’s entire body of work, a strong sense of place, and finding happiness with where you are in life. The opening track, “Everything Is A Song” is prime example, as is the joyous “Every Minute” with its mantra “loving every minute of living”. “Home in the Sky” allows listeners a glimpse at Grey’s spirituality strongly rooted in his Florida home and the land he grew up on. JJ Grey is a natural storyteller with a gift for delivering thoughtful and profound messages in a down-to-earth, laid-back way, while maintaining a level of intensity that goes straight to your core.

Ol’ Glory was recorded at Retrophonics Studio in Saint Augustine, FL, where Grey has tracked many times. An avid surfer, Grey often spent the mornings at the beach and the afternoons recording, a formula that has proven very effective in creating inspired recordings. Ol’ Glory showcases the strength of Mofro members Anthony Cole (drums and percussion), Andrew Trube (guitar), Anthony Farrell (piano/organ), Todd Smallie (bass) and Dennis Marion (trumpet) and Jeff Dazey (saxophone). Special guests include Luther Dickinson on dobro and electric slide guitar and Derek Trucks on electric slide guitar.

Portugal. The Man, RL Grime, First Aid Kit, Desaparecidos
+ Dozens More Round Out Initial Lineup

Tickets on Sale Friday, January 30 at Noon EST via

LOUISVILLE, KY (January 27, 2015) – The Forecastle Festival will return this summer led by Louisville hometown heroes My Morning Jacket; soulful breakout star, Sam Smith; southern rock heavyweights, Widespread Panic; and indie veterans, Modest Mouse. The three-day music celebration, now in its 13th year, will take place July 17–19, 2015, at the award-winning Waterfront Park, a sweeping green space on the banks of the Ohio River framed by the skyline of downtown Louisville.

Hailing from Bowling Green, Kentucky, and New Albany, Indiana, respectively, Cage the Elephant and Houndmouth add to the stellar regional talent atop this year’s Forecastle bill, the former currently working on their follow-up to the Grammy-nominated Melophobia and the latter eyeing a March 17 release of the highly-anticipated Little Neon Limelight via Rough Trade Records.

The family duo of Wilco frontman Jeff and his son Spencer Tweedy will showcase their recent collaboration as TWEEDY, while The Word, featuring pedal steel virtuoso Robert Randolph, B3 maestro John Medeski and the incomparable North Mississippi Allstars will bring the gospel stylings of Soul Food, their first album in 14 years, coming out May 5. Others notable acts include Tallest Man On Earth, Portugal. The Man, RL Grime, First Aid Kit, Desaparecidos, Shovels & Rope, Big K.R.I.T. and more. A full list of confirmed artists from the initial lineup can be found below. Additional artists will be announced in the coming weeks.

Weekend passes go on sale this Friday, January 30, 2015, at noon EST at and all Ticketmaster outlets. A limited number of weekend passes start at $144.50 plus fees. VIP experiences, travel packages and payment plan options will also be available. Full details can be found at

The Bourbon Lodge, Forecastle’s slice of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, will return in 2015 with a full lineup of bourbon offerings, bourbon education, a bourbon-inspired culinary experience and much more. Fans of bourbon will have the option to purchase advanced Bourbon Lodge memberships with their weekend pass through Ticketmaster.

Also returning in 2015, The Kentucky Landing will feature a variety of regional craft beers, local food trucks and a selection of non-profit organizations and craft vendors selling Kentucky-made goods.

Highlighted in Rolling Stone as “one of the coolest festivals in America” and acclaimed by American Songwriter as “a rock and roll paradise,” the Forecastle Festival has evolved from a small community event into one of the country’s premier festival destinations.

The event offers an immersive experience that’s distinctly Louisville—beyond the first-class musical lineup—highlighting the region’s burgeoning culinary and arts scene, Kentucky’s unique bourbon heritage and more. The festival continues to emphasize sustainability practices and conservation initiatives, exhibited by the festival’s non-profit organization, the Forecastle Foundation.

Artist additions, single day tickets and late-night show tickets, along with the daily schedule of artists, late-night events and other activities will be available soon. Learn more about how the SuperJam came together
during the Reddit AMA at 8PM ET Tonight

“It’s been years since I’ve played in a live band. I wouldn’t even call this a live band I would call this some alien race of music that hasn’t even been heard before.”
-Skrillex (This Stage, Bonnaroo TN., 3:20am on Saturday June 14th, 2014)

“When we announced this Superjam it was controversial. The pressure was on for all of us to live up to the legacy of the SuperJam. In the end, we got the surprise of a lifetime
and a show for the ages.”
-SuperJam producer Paul Peck

“#1 Best Performance of Bonnaroo 2014”

Like Bonnaroo itself, the festival’s SuperJam is an ambitious experience that pushes boundaries transversing genres, generations and expectations. From rehearsals to the stage, watch as maestro Skrillex, both on stage in an exclusive backstage footage, pushes his own genre boundaries and forms the foundation of an all-star band led by Big Gigantic, with Thundercat on bass and Incubus’ Mike Einziger on guitar that would ultimately involve such wide ranging artists and influences including:
The Doors (Robby Krieger), the Grateful Dead (Mickey Hart), Ms. Lauryn Hill,
Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Zedd, A$AP Ferg, Warpaint,
Mystikal, Janelle Monae, Matt Shultz from Cage the Elephant,
Joel Cummins from Umphrey’s McGee, Craig Robinson and much much more.

In an era in which the business of music is all too apparent and pervasive, the Bonnaroo SuperJam, the festival’s signature event, has become a respected and highly acclaimed institution that looms large as a once-in-a-lifetime experience where experiments are encouraged, genre categories no longer exist and superstar musicians who may have never crossed paths let alone shared the same stage become unexpected collaborators in pursuit of pure creation.

The entire series was shot and directed by Danny Clinch, a three-time GRAMMY Award-nominated film director and one of the most acclaimed photographers working today.

Trailer Here:

January 9th, 2015 – Miracles Out Of Nowhere, the documentary film on KANSAS and the band’s incredible career will see its worldwide premiere at the 30th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) on Monday, February 2nd. The festival holds a vast array of films representing 54 countries, 23 world premieres and 53 US premieres, tributes with the year’s top talent, panel discussions, and free community education and outreach. The festival begins Tuesday, January 27th and continues through Saturday, February 7th, 2015.

Tickets and packages for the festival can be purchased here:

Miracles Out Of Nowhere producer and former manager, Budd Carr explains:

“It is an honor to have our KANSAS band documentary Miracles Out of Nowhere selected to premiere at the 2015 Santa Barbara International Film Festival. As a long time Santa Barbara resident it will be especially exciting for me celebrate the bands 40th Anniversary as part of the SBIFF’s 30th Anniversary year.”

Carr is recognized as one of the film industry’s top talents in the field of Film Music Supervision and best known for his work with Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone. He began his professional career as a music agent representing acts including The Cream, James Taylor, Carole King, Crosby-Stills-Nash and Young, and Eric Clapton.

2014 marked the 40th anniversary of the release of KANSAS, the band’s debut album. To commemorate the occasion, the classic KANSAS lineup reunited, for the first time in more than 30 years; at the place their incredible journey began, Topeka, Kansas! There, they relived the incredible untold story of one of the most successful American rock bands of their era. Returning to monumental career landmarks in their hometown, as well as sharing untold memories ranging from touring to songwriting and recording, the band shares how the smash hit “Dust in the Wind” was just a passing comment away from never being recorded! Viewers will hear the band tell stories about recording in the studio next to John Lennon, a backstage fight with Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, and how the words “free beer” changed their lives forever! Miracles Out of Nowhere presents KANSAS in a way they have never before been seen.

“It was a pleasure and an honor to be given the opportunity to tell the world the amazing story of the band KANSAS in our new film Miracles Out Of Nowhere,” states director Charley Randazzo. “It is an inspiring journey of friendship, musicianship and perseverance that will resonate with people of all walks of life. Their songs and music were and still are “rock classics”, and it’s nice to know this film will expose to the masses six of the nicest and most talented guys I have ever worked with.”

Randazzo has produced, directed and edited music videos, concerts and documentaries for such musical superstars such as Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, P Diddy, N’ Sync, Prince, The Backstreet Boys, Billy Ray Cyrus, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.

The documentary features interviews from legendary Queen guitarist and former tour mate Brian May, acclaimed producer Brendan O’Brien, Rolling Stone journalist David Wild, and more. Featured prominently is country icon Garth Brooks, who counts KANSAS, alongside The Beatles and the Eagles, as one of his greatest inspirations. These extraordinary new insights are coupled with rare and unseen footage, including live performances and candid, fan-shot footage of the band on the road. Miracles Out of Nowhere offers an unprecedented look at the incredible ascent of KANSAS, a story that will appeal to new fans and veteran enthusiasts alike.

Miracles Out Of Nowhere will be officially released on March 24th, 2015 and is available for pre-order at this link: You can also pre-order Miracles Out of Nowhere on Amazon.

From the beginning, KANSAS was fascinating in its unconventional approach to rock stardom. The sextet, composed of drummer Phil Ehart, bassist Dave Hope, keyboardist/guitarist Kerry Livgren, violinist/vocalist Robby Steinhardt, vocalist/keyboardist Steve Walsh, and guitarist Richard Williams were unlikely candidates for mainstream success in every way. After an improbable pairing with rock impresario Don Kirshner, the man behind the Monkees who signed and financed KANSAS on his Kirshner label, their relentless drive to succeed eventually resulted in instantly recognizable iconic hits like “Carry On Wayward Son,” “Dust in the Wind,” and “Point of Know Return.”

KANSAS has released eight gold albums, three 6x platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, The Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show) and the million-selling single “Dust in the Wind.” Albums and singles by KANSAS could be found on the Billboard charts for more than 200 weeks during the 1970s and 1980s. “Dust in the Wind” and “Carry On My Wayward Son” can still be heard on today’s radio.
