Halfway to Forecastle
Halfway to Forecastle was an incredible event filled with constant stimulation for your eyes and ears. Held at the Point, J. K McKnight confirmed his visionary ability to push the area’s music scene, turning Louisville into the big city dance club for the night.
The venue resembled an amusement park fun house complete with colored lights, mirrors, wall videos, props, and neon lights.
The mostly college age crowd came attired in what could best be described as Mardi Gras fashion. Although I am not familiar with this type of music L.A. Riots put together a steady stream of sounds with danceable beats. It was very interesting.
Kid Sister followed with a very entertaining set that pushed the crowd to even a higher level of dance. The show was to continue on until 3:00a.m. Between photographing the event, working my way through the crowds with my eyes and ears pushed to new heights of stimulation, I was zapped of my energy and couldn’t make it past 1:00 a.m.
I pride myself on giving every type of music a chance. Would I do it again? Yes, It was great fun! Even if I was most of the crowds parent’s age!
